Vinstigator's News

Two weeks ago I posted about how my first single entitled "On My Mind" was put on the iTunes music store under LL Cool J's record label. That took a few months to happen. However, due to the popularity of the single, my 2nd single entitled "Don't Really Wanna Know" was put up in less than a week! You can now buy that song from the iTunes store by clicking the link below...

http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/dont-really-wan na-know-single/id561711251

The support for my first single has been overwhelming! I want to thank the fans for their continued support of my music career! Without you guys, there would be no Vinstigator! And I also want to give a special thanks to the very talented Zajed for producing the beat for my 2nd single. I look forward to working with him again in the near future! Anyway, hope you guys enjoy the song! Don't forget to leave me feedback! I got so many projects in the works and I can't wait to show you guys! Even the legendary MindChamber bought a copy! In fact, he's been one of the biggest supporters of my music. And for that, I thank him...

LL Cool J has put my 2nd single up on iTunes!

My first single entitled On My Mind is now available on the iTunes music store! This song was actually a huge Newgrounds collaboration! My friend maer808 actually produced the beat for me and released the demo here on Newgrounds. As you can see from my review, I knew this song was going to be something special. This would be our first collaboration, but definitely not the last. I told him that I had a great concept for the song. I told him It would be a love song featuring a professional sounding R & B singer.

He loved the idea and was actually looking forward to it! It took a while because I didn't just want any singer on the hook... I wanted someone who would really take this song to another level. So eventually I found a singer who goes by the name Magic Mike Z. I wrote the whole song (including the hook) and had him sing it the way I intended it to sound. Not only did he make it sound the way I wanted it to, but he actually exceeded my expectations and made it sound even BETTER than what I had originally intended! By adding three part harmonies and all kinds of other things, he really made his vocals stand out.

It took us 2 hours to record the song. It took me 1 hour to record all 3 of my verses and ad-libs, and it took him 1 hour to record the hook. Then it took 1 hour for the sound engineer to mix and master it. After it was completed, I showed maer808 the final product and he loved it! I then told him that I would be getting a distribution deal with LL Cool J's record label and that they would be putting my song on iTunes. I told him that once this becomes big, I am going to hire him as one of my personal producers. I never forget the people that helped me along the way and maer808 was a very big part of this song's success. For that, I thank him.

You can purchase our song from the iTunes store by clicking the link below...

Thank you for supporting us! Without you guys, we wouldn't have the inspiration to make music. And you know what the best part is? The newgrounds collaboration doesn't stop there! Another friend of mine who goes by the name MrAmature made an animated music video to our song! I had approached him with the idea of a music video after watching his Legend of Zelda movie. I was so impressed with the movie and knew that he could make a good video. But before we even talked about making a music video, he actually surprised me by incorporating one of my songs in his Earthbound Parody. So after he completed the music video and showed me, I was impressed. You can watch the "On My Mind" animated music video below...

And of course, you can watch the video right here on Newgrounds!

So as you can see, there are a lot of talented people here on Newgrounds who made this song possible, and I look forward to working with them again in the near future. I also look forward to working with new artists here on Newgrounds as well. Also before I end this post, I want to give a special thanks to MindChamber for putting me on the amazing hip hop artists who don't get enough exposure list. I also want to thank him for being so supportive of my latest singles that I've released to the audio portal!

He really loved Bout The Hustle and even downloaded it to his phone! That in itself was a huge honor. And even though he's not a big fan of sprite movies, he still thought the animated music video was pretty cool. I Also want to thank Tom Fulp for allowing me to post on the front page and for putting my most of flash movies in the Chrono Trigger collections page! And of course I want to thank the fans who have supported our music! Without Newgrounds, this collaboration would have never happened. If you guys do end up making a purchase, please leave a review. Feedback is greatly appreciated!

My first Newgrounds single is now available on iTunes and is being distributed by LL Cool J's very own record label!

My last post was about the Lakers' epic game 7 victory over the Celtics. This one is about the event that took place in Downltown Los Angeles right by the Staples Center. I only live 10 minutes away from L.A. so I went to the event they were having and man was it awesome! I actually got interviewed by a few news channels that was aired live. Here are some videos I took of the event...

Lakers have done it! They've won their 16th title and got revenge for their loss against the Celtics in 2008! Fisher, Artest, and Gasol were definitely the heroes of the nightt! Especially those clutch 3's by Fisher and Artest! This is definitely the sweetest championship victory in the Lakers' history! I had confidence that this would have a Hollywood ending and that the Lakers would win the Championship... and they did. Man was it an awesome game. It came down to the wire! People will be talking about this game for years to come. so to celbrate their victory, I have released a new song to the audio portal called "Bout The Hustle". Check it out...

A flash animator from Newgrounds made an animated music video to my first single entitled On My Mind. Although the submission was overshadowed, it has gained a lot of popularity among some higher ups. I showed the A & R's at Rep Recordz the music video and everybody loved it, especially the sound engineers. Anyway if you guys haven't seen it, check it out...

Oh and so far I'm loving loving how the NBA finals are turning out. With the series tied 2 to 2, anything can happen. Although the Lakers lost tonight, I have a feeling they'll win game 5 and then end it in game 6 at the Staples Center. Anyway if you wanna discuss the NBA finals on Newgrounds, here's the official thread...

Expect an awesome game this Sunday...

On My Mind Music Video

Yesterday I went down to Rep Recordz headquarters to record some music. Instead, we ended up chillin' and just having a good time. We were also talking business as well. I had suggested we hold an event every Saturday since we have a lot of space. I was explaining how everything should be setup and everyone loved the idea, especially the CEO. We're gonna build a stage and have some awesome surround sound. Also we're gonna have a caterer make some awesome food and we're gonna have a Barbeque as well. We recently got vending machines so drinks are taken care of.

I spent all day down there just chillin' with all the cool people. Me and the security guard were browsing Newgrounds and I was showing him all kinds of different flash animations. He really loved Super Mario Crossover and the Vince Trigger series. Also the CEO bought a Bearded Dragon that day. Man he looks awesome and he's pretty fast too. So all in all, it was a pretty chill day. I look foward to the events we'll be having soon. I'll be performing various songs at the event including Don't Really Wanna Know and On My Mind.

Anyway, here is the video of me chillin' with the Rep Recordz staff. In this video is Vinstigator (sittin' in a chair next to the CEO who goes by the name H$), two of our best sound engineers (one is playing the drums and the other one is talking with me and H$), Tricia (one of the A & R's) and of course, the beautiful Bailey (she's the one who discovered my music). They're also talking about giving me a distribution deal once my short term contract expires in November. Anyway, I'll continue to keep you guys updated. In the meantime, check out the video...

Well I went to Rep Records' headquarters a couple of days ago to record a new song. After I was finished recording, they recorded a video of me talking about the session I had. They posted it to their official youtube channel and I posted it to mine as well. I go into the studio every single week to record new material and I'm loving every minute of it. Their sound engineer really knows what he's doing. Also, their mixing and mastering is top notch.

In other news, my friend and fellow recording artist Heatt sent me a new track that will be my next official single. There's already a hook on it so now I just gotta record 2 verses and the song is complete. Our last collaboration was pretty popular. This new collaboration is better than our last. To hype up our new single, I made an SWF file of one of his recent singles. This is to get an idea of what our track will sound like.

Heatt featuring Tony Bars & Jody Jo - I'ma do me

Anyway, I'll continue to keep you guys updated. And thanks for all of the continued support!

Well as you all know, I went to the studio on Cinco De Mayo. No parties or Barbeque's for me, just strictly recording music all day. So anyway, Rep Recordz recorded a video of me in the studio and they posted it on their official youtube page. I also posted it on my youtube page as well. I've got a lot of work ahead of me in the next 6 months. I go into the studio EVERY week to record new material. I'm actually collaborating with a few artists right here on Newgrounds. I'm working on a song called "Sick of It" with my good friend Lejin. It's a collaboration we've been meaning to do for a while, we just never got around to it until now. Anyway here's a preview of the track...

Sick of It (Incomplete)

Anyway I'll keep you guys updated. In the meantime, check out the video of me in the studio...

I just released my new single entitled Never Giving Up to the audio portal, so check it out and leave a review. Also one of my songs was recently used in flash movie that won a daily award today! You can watch that movie by clicking here. The way he incorporated my song in his movie was very creative.

Also, I just recently signed a short term contract with Rep Recordz. The contract expires in 6 months but if they see that I'm consistant and dedicated, they'll offer me a long term contract. They've already provided me with beats so now i just gotta write to 'em. The CEO wants to see how creative I can get with the songs. So far, everything is going great.

Anyway, Here is a virtual tour of the studio. The A & R rep who is recording the video is the one who discovered me on myspace and set me up with a meeting with the CEO. I thank her for giving me an opportunity like this. I actually go into that same studio next week to record a new song I'm writing. Expect big things from me this year...

Earlier this week, I had meeting with a Record Label over here in California. They contacted me through myspace and set me up with a meeting. So we talked business and I liked what I heard so I signed a short term contract for 6 months. I wouldn't have signed the contract if I didn't like the deal they were offering me. If they see I'm consistent and dedicated, after the 6 months I can decide if I want to sign with them on a long term basis. They'll pay for everything including music videos and distribution. They're not asking for a percentage so any profit I make off album sales goes directly to me.

Also the CEO of the company just bought a limo, so we'll be going to our shows in style! Right now I get access to their professional studio, a bio, and a photo shoot. Basically I get access to everything. I just couldn't pass up this offer! They have a very professional studio setup and everybody on the label is cool as hell. Anyway I go back next week to meet a producer who will produce 3 original tracks for me. In the meantime, check out this video of an event they put together in my hometown of West Covina...
